As all our Items are handcrafted and made in London, we work in small production batches and often make to order

Ana Verdun’s jewellery is handmade in London using traditional techniques, expert craftsmanship and great attention to detail.

Our Fine Metals:

The silver, gold and platinum that we use are sourced in the UK from certified suppliers that adhere to the “EU Standard Compliant Regulations”and that are committed to sourcing these materials in an ethical and sustainable manner.

Ana Verdun’s Collections are made in Sterling Silver (925) without nickel.

We recycle most of our silver and gold and this facility also allows us to re-use our clients’ own gold and to create in-house alloys.
We can work in Fairtrade Gold on request, please note this service will affect the final price of your quote.

The UK Hallmarks:
All of our jewels are hallmarked and have our unique 'Maker's Mark' (Sponsor's Mark) to British hallmarking regulations.

These are marks applied to precious metals (platinum, gold, palladium and silver) to indicate the amount of pure metal in the alloy meaning that the piece of jewellery has been independently tested and guaranteeing that it conforms to all legal standards of purity (fineness).
The UK Hallmarks, follow the link for more information about The British Hallmarking System.

Pieces that are under certain weight do not require hallmarking and these are:

  • Silver 7.78 grams
  • Gold 1.0 gram
  • Platinum 0.5 grams

Our jewellery is Hallmarked at the Assay Office in London.

Gold Plate:

The gold plating that we use is called Hard Gold Plating, which has a stronger and harder composition than gold-fill, or “flash” plating. Gold Plate is also called gold vermeil. The difference between vermeil, and gold fill, is in the thickness of the gold and the base metal used. In vermeil, the base is always sterling silver.

We use 3 microns for all our pieces and 5 microns for all our rings. The longer the piece is exposed to the electro-plating process, the more microns coat it. More microns mean the layers are stronger and thicker. Although we use Hard Gold Plate, this will wear off with time and we recommend you treat your plated jewellery with care. Please refer to our Jewellery Care section for more information.

Our Diamonds:

We source our diamonds from certified suppliers that adhere to the Kimberly Process.

The Kimberly process is a Certification Scheme created by the United Nations in 2001 “to prevent conflict diamonds from entering the mainstream market and to ensure that diamond purchases were not financing violence by rebel movements and their allies seeking to undermine legitimate governments.”

We are able to provide GIA (Gemological Institute of America)-certified diamonds but bear in mind that this has a significant added cost to the final price of the jewel. We do not provide GIA certification for our rustic diamonds.

Our Gemstones:

We source our gemstones from certified suppliers that assure us these have been sourced in an ethical and environmentally responsible manner.

We handpick all our gemstones ensuring we get the best shapes and colours.

The gemstones and diamonds may vary slightly in size, colour and shapes from the photographs seen on our website and any other advertising materials. We try to use gemstones that are as close in appearance as possible to the stones pictured on the website.
For our one-of-a-kind and bespoke pieces we’ll work with you to ensure we source your desired stone(s).
